Leisure and Tourism
At Leighton Hall, we understand how difficult it is to organise a successful school trip where pupils have fun, encounter experiences that are not available to them in the classroom and perhaps, most importantly, are fully risk assessed for your peace of mind. All our school visits are carried out with the highest regard for the health, safety and welfare of the children taking part in them.
Upstairs Downstairs (Guided)
A wonderful chance to explore what life was like for Victorian children! Discover the contrast between life for the Gillow children upstairs and the many families who worked below stairs and throughout Leighton's estates. The Victorians come to life through role-playing, our funny stories and through antique household items which the children are encouraged to touch and feel.
Houses & Homes (Guided)
Comparing homes throughout the ages, by identifying how this home has changed over time. Looking at why buildings look the way they are and understanding what different buildings are used for.
Countryside Classroom (Self Guided)
The Countryside Classroom is a series of outdoor trails of Leighton’s estate which include garden, woodland and field habitats. All trails enable children to see life cycles and life processes in action. Field sketching and making aboriginal map sticks are just two of the activities on offer on these outdoor trails. Choose from: Science and Nature or Geography and Literacy. The Countryside Classroom is self-guided with clear visual boards to guide and inform along the way.
